Day 58 And it's Arsenal, Arsenal FC!

We woke up at the crack of dawn to go to Studio City to the Fox and Hounds to watch the Carling Cup with a TON of Arsenal fans.  My boyfriend and a few of his friends started an Arsenal supporters group called the OC Gooners. (That's an English soccer team for you yanks.)  Today we met up with the LA and San Diego guys for our largest viewing party yet!  150, 200 people maybe?  We won't discuss the result except to see we still have other silverware to get our hands on.
Make something as big as you possibly can.
Sean, Joshie, and I on our way to the pub.  Together we form one complete face!

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture when the pub was full.  It was standing room only and we were packed in like sardines.

Danny singing chants.

Some of the OC Gooners.  They're a bit dyslexic.

Keith, Nick, Danny, KC, and ummmmmmm....
This is what I look like when we don't win!

Day 57 Punk Rock Ohhhh Yeaaahhhh!

We had a fun day shopping and eating lunch at Bodhi Tree.  Got some new creepers at Electric Chair.  Went to Best Buy for a charger for my camera and ended up getting a 32 in HD flat screen tv and a blue ray player that streams Netflix.  Yes, I did get the charger too. :P
Make a disposable plastic bag into something different.
A Dead Kennedys plaque.  The letters are made out of a cut up Stater Brothers bag.

Day 56 whoa, that's heavy...

Make something heavy seem light.
It's raining it's pouring.... Did some studying at the library today with Missy and grabbed lunch at El Torito.  Danny had to work tonight so Joshie, Jeff, and I watched a movie and chilllllled.  Another good day. :)
Josh holding up a 47 inch tv with his pinkie. Note the cupcake pj pants.

Day 55 a jingle?

Write a jingle about something found in nature.
I lazed around most of the day due to extremely sore muscles from my double work out yesterday.  Zeleste came over and we ate pizza and shot the shit all evening. Man, I can't wait until Vegas!  It's going to be EPIC!
Now as far as my project goes I don't have the means to make a commercial.  Ok, I do have a web cam but I didn't look ahead in The Book this week so I didn't have time to do enough planning haha.
it's better than any drug,
will give you the best hug,
their eyes are like a bug,
buy a pug,
buy a pug,
buy a puuuuuuuuug!

Day 54 Yoga is better than xanax.

I had the worst day in microbiology today!  We had to make gram stains.  I couldn't for the life of me get mine stained properly and spent the evening staring into a microscope at staphylococcus aureus trying to find my e. coli stain.  I worked on it for hours and came home so upset.  Forty minutes of Crunch: Candle Light Yoga and I feel like a milllion bucks!
Connect the dots.  Make something using only dots.
I didn't exactly do a project BUT this is what I was looking at all night and whadaya know... They're little dots. (Magnified staph, the picture is obviously borrowed because my microscope isn't that fancy.)

Day 53 Calgon take me away...

Honestly I did nothing today that would cause any stress.  I went to dinner with Baby Grrl and played catch up.
Just in case it is needed in the future I made something for relaxation purposes.
Make something in which the sense of smell is the essential component.
An aromatherapy eye pillow filled with dried lavender and chamomile.

Day 52 Let them eat cake!

Work upside down.  Create something in such a way that you have to rotate it 180 degrees to display/see it when it is finished.
I was having trouble with todays prompt at first.  That is until I started craving something sweet.
Pineapple upside down cake! :)

Day 51 Sweeeeeeeet

Normally my straight pins sit in a metal tin looking mean and menacing.  Stabby little pieces of ouch.  Not today my friends, not today.
Make something that would not normally be considered cute and cuddly into something that is.
My pokey pins o' doooooom...

have found a new home as sprinkles in a cuddly little cupcake pincushion.

Complete with a cupcake wrapper adorned with skulls.  (That's my nod for the day to Noah.)

Day 50 Where the white women at?

Work with only white materials.
Seeing as that our one game took over three hours I had to be creative in what I would document as my project today.  So I give you game night with my white friends/family!
Quelf!  The most ridiculous game on the planet.  Danny had to put someone else's sock on his hand and make a sock puppet.  His name was Chester!  Josh and Cam hammin it up for the camera.

Chester + Josh = TRUE LOVE!

I had to stick a piece of paper to my forehead that said Quelf and leave it there the whole game.

Mummy Jeff!

Danny was not very pleased when he had to make a fort and sit under it until his next turn.

Such a great night!  This is certainly only a game for close friends and people that aren't afraid to make fun of themselves.  I really do have the best chosen family in the world.  Good night goon!

Day 49 IKEA is the Devil!

Work with a lot of something.
Ohhhh, I worked with a hell of a lot of something today! Danny and I went to IKEA to get a couple of dressers. I knew it would be a mission to get them put together but damn.... over 200 pieces of hardware!  Not to mention all of the walls of the drawers and such.  About four hours and several smoke breaks later we got em finished.
Not the best picture, but here's the low six drawer one.

Annnnd the tall six drawer one.   You know you're becoming a grownup when Friday night consists of putting together flat box furniture and reorganizing your sock drawer. :P

Day 48 Time Enough at Last

How tall can you make something that can stand up on its own?
This was a lot more frustrating than I thought. Grrrrrr.....
This was in the midst of an attempt where I got really pissed, kicked the thing over, and went to smoke.

Tada!!!! An over five foot book tower.

Day 47 you can call me flower if you want to...

Gahreaaaaat!!!!  All that studying was of the WRONG material!!!!! I don't think I did very well on my quiz AT ALL.  At least what I did study is going to be on the first big exam that is worth a lot more points.  God damn it Season, learn to pay attention!
Little did I realize that the project I am doing for today is going to take over a week to finish. Whoops!
Work with flowers.
This is the only clue you are getting.  Pictures will arrive as the project unfolds. :D

Day 46 Gimme all your money!!!

Just found out yesterday that we have a microbiology test tomorrow!  Ok, it was in the syllabus but I didn't notice.  Crunch time!!!! Study, study, study....
Face it.  What can you do with a face?
Gimme all the cash!!!!  Or micro answers, that would actually help me more at this point. :(

Day 45 Taaaaaaaape

I kind of read the prompt wrong today and thought it said make something out of tape.  It actually said to create an image.  Oh well, there are no rules, right?
Make something out of tape.
I needed something to put all of my pens and junk for school so here ya go, a pencil bag.
Complete with a working zipper.  Hey!  There's a pug running through the shot!

Day 44 In the Army Now!

Make something that lights up.
I was having some trouble coming up with something today so I started rooting around in my crafting drawers.  I found some Army men and started playing with them.  Every battle has casualties, right?  That's why they needed a first aid tent.
The soldiers protecting the medic tent while Florence Nightingale is inside fighting the good fight. (This is OBVIOUSLY a depiction of the Crimean War, as if you couldn't tell, pshhhh.)

"The Lady With the Lamp". Shhhh, it's just a tea light. I admit this is kind of a janky project and the pictures are terrible, but creativity counts for something. :P

Day 43 Something New

We continued my birthday week by having Japanese with the dysfunctional family (being Danny, Jeff, and I) as well as Nicole, Geoff, Hazel, and Keith.  Matsu never disappoints! Danny had to go to work so Nicole and Geoff hung out with Jeff, Doyle, and I watching tv and shooting the shit.  I'm cutting this short because I'm actually having a lot of fun doing what my project entailed for the day.
Learn something new.  Ask a friend to help you do something using a technique or skill they're good at.
Now, I am ADAMANTLY anti-video game. They make me CRAZY.  I didn't think learning how to use the camera and trying new levels on Little Big Planet  would be so fun! :)
My little sack guy looking like a pissed off vampire at the batting cages.

Look! That is actually me SMILING while playing a video game.  Wonders never cease.

Day 42 Junk mail

Oh lordy was I feeling terrible today!!! It took me forever to get around to my project but I got it done. :)
Turn todays junk mail into something much more appealing.
We only got ONE piece of junk mail today and I was going to try my hand at quilling.  I put the ad through my paper shredder not realizing that it makes little leaf shaped pieces instead of long strips.  I stared at the pile for awhile until a light bulb went off.  Papier-mache!  So for your viewing pleasure we have (drum roll please) a zombie hand!
Complete with red fingernails and a bloody wrist. :)

Day 41 oh lordy, does my head hurt!

Once again I missed a day.  Well, I DID my project I just failed to post and get pictures of it.  I'm sure there are some out there somewhere.
Think big. Create a large version of something that would normally be much smaller.
A giant group of friends and I descended on a local bar Johnny's Saloon.  Thursday night at a bar usually resembles a ghost town but not last night!  We created a HUUUUGE crowd.  New and old friends alike showed up.  The Kogi truck was there to fulfill our Korean/Mexican fusion needs and there was even a band outside jamming.
I'm gonna search around on friends Facebook pages for photos.  Off to nurse this hangover!

day 40 go shorty, it's my birthday....

Woooo hooooo! I have made it another year on this planet.  The ripe old age of 33 and I am still feeling like a kid.  My cousin Kimi took me out to lunch and we had fun gossiping and eating CHEESECAKE!  School was the main order of the day but tomorrow is the big celebration with all of the friends.  Some people get sad when they realize they are getting older.  Me?  I know that I'm just getting wiser.

Work with yarn.

Seeing as that I don't have any yarn I have to do a bit of interpretation.  How about I SPIN a yarn!

This one time I was drinking on the roof of a building and the cops came.  I had to run but there was nowhere to go.  I jumped off the roof and landed on my feet because I have cat like reflexes.  The grass was wet so I slipped and went under a bridge and fell in a river.  The current was so strong and it took me ten miles downstream.  The cops sent dogs after me so I hid underwater using a reed to breathe.  I waited for three hours until they gave up.  When I was able to get out of the water I luckily found a bike and was able to ride to safety. Whew!  Man, do I have good luck or what?

Ok, this yarn makes absolutely ZERO sense but I had a friend in high school that told us this story once.  We used to say he told "Tall Stories" not "Tall Tales" because he never got details right.  Hey, it's my birthday, cut me some slack. :P

Day 39 You say you want a revolution well ya know, we all wanna change the world.

In my little corner of the world I watched a HORRIBLE movie (The Runaways) with Nicole and Danny, ate pesto pizza, and played with Doyle.  The other side of the world is deep in turmoil, which mind you the majority of Americans could give one shit about.
Write a haiku about something that happened to you today or is in the news today.

Day 38 If all Mondays were like this I'd want them seven days a week!

Pilates in the morning, lunch with Kimi at Mitsuwa, book shopping at Book Off, fancy kawaii nails at Atlas, and a reeeeeeally interesting microbiology class. Not to mention snuggle time with my Danny after this.  Ahhhhh, if everyday could be just like this!
Work underwater.
Is it just a simple vase with some glass beads in it?

OR is it really hiding a pretty flower?  This was a lot harder to do than it looks.  The damned beads kept shifting around.

My right hand.  Look! The skull even has eyelashes!!!!

The left hand.  Art done by the AMAZING Ayano at Atlas Nails in Costa Mesa, CA.  Happy early birthday to meeeeeee! (The kawaii nails were my birthday treat to myself.)

Day 37 PUPPY BOWL!!!!

Wow! This weekend was full of foooooooooood.  I was in the kitchen for most of the day making good eats for the Super Bowl/Puppy Bowl party we had.  Some good friends, food, and laughs was the days order and we came correct.  I think I've done five sink fulls of dishes in the last 48 hours what with the Filipino madness of yesterday and the snackage of today.
Admittedly, my project today looks like rubbish.  I spent very little time on it but if you squint your eyes and use your imagination it kind of looks like a hand.
Make something with a stapler.
E.T.'s hand made possible by a mini stapler and a scrap of paper. :p

Day 36 Pretty as a Picture

Made a feast of lumpia and chicken adobo because my Uncle Denny was visiting.  Now we're watching cheesy horror movies.  Started out with Drag Me To Hell and now we're onto Thankskilling (teenagers + a killer turkey = AMAZING!)
Take something old and make it look new.
An old picture frame that I had laying around.

An earing holder!  I used a wood burner to make the leopard print and attached some lace to the back to hang the jewelry from.

Day 35 Conjoined twins (or quadruplets as the case may be.)

Create instructions that others can use to make something and then have someone try it out.

1.
1.      Take a sheet of paper and fold in fours accordion style (back and forth.)
2.       Draw a person on the paper with the arms and legs extending to the edges.
3.       With scissors cut out the person.
4.       TADA! Paper dolls!
He did it! Yay Jeff for following directions. :P

Day 34 Heavy Metal Tree

Work with wire.
Today seemed like the perfect day to finally use the soldering attachment on my hot knife.
The tree of deathhhhhh!  Constructed out of paper clips and some solder.
My solders (or welds or whatever they are called) are HUUUUGE!

Day 33 Round one, FIGHT!!!!!

My first "week" of school is done and I'm feeling great about it!  We even got to do our first experiment in microbiology (gathering samples to grow bacteria.)  In my excitement of starting my workout regimen and getting my last science class started I wanted to go out with the boys.  We planned on going to see "The Fighter" but Jeff wasn't feeling too well.  Instead we got food and hung at the casa.
Use pens as your material/inspiration today.
A boxing ring made out of Bic pens complete with Bic boxers.

Green trunks won!!!! Don King was even there to present him with his heavyweight belt. (Belt, shorts, and Mr. King courtesy of Danny.)

This post brought to you courtesy of Bic.  The company for all of your writing and fire setting needs.

Day 32 Calgon, take me away...

Holy sh*t!!!! The double does of pilates and yoga yesterday shredded me.  Every single muscle in my core is screaming at me.  I realize this is just my body's way of getting strong but ugh, this is tough.
Create something ephemeral.
This is about as creative as my tired self would let me get today.  This would've been good for the disguise project the other day. :P

Seeing as that I went to all of the trouble to draw a bath to make bubbles I might as well enjoy it!
